China (Fujian Putien & Zhejiang) Day 1

If you guys have been following my tweets, I tweeted about my trip to China. I've never fear for my life so much! I'm worried about the food (u know they love dog meats & their food scandals) , their culture and the worst thing of all.. their public toilets. All these really terrifies me and at certain point I want to back out from that trip. BF is a genius, he bought the tickets without consulting me first. "XIAN XIA SHOU WEI QIANG!" Come to think now, I'm really happy that I went, and I survive. In fact, I couldn't wait to go back there again! HAHAHAHAHA~~~~

If you still think China is still as bad as before, YOU HAVE TO GO TO CHINA.. LIKE NOW! Of course, some places are not develop yet, the "traditional public toilets" still exist. The places I went to was Xiamen, Fujian -> Putien. Not to be compared to Shanghai & Beijing, but these provinces are already developing so much, to the extend that it's so much better than Singapore! As BF has relatives living in Putien, we stayed at their apartments during our trip & they showed us around Fujian.

We touched down at Xiamen Airport in the late noon, and one of my BF relative came to pick us up. Another 2 hours journey to Fujian.

I'm desperately looking for a cheap decent headphone with heavy bass... (I think I'm asking too much here..) I don't want to use my Beats anymore when I jog because it gets dirty and unhygienic throughout the time.

I SWEAR THIS IS REALLY A GOOD BUY! 







PROS: Cheap price, Fast Delivery, Lightweight, Foldable, Deep Bass & Clear Sound to motivate me to jog. In fact, this works so much better than my Audio Technica that cost me over $50.

CONS: Looks like fake beats (I don't mind because I am only using it for jogging) & seem fragile. Not sure whether this headphone can last me how long, but we can't expect much of it because it is cheap!

Cambridge Language School Fraud!

First time ever - A bad experience from Groupon.

If you guys have been a regular on Groupon, you will notice that this "Cambridge Language School deal" has been appearing for quite sometime. 

Well the deal look super uber attractive to me because I've been dying to pick up Korean Language. I thought, why not give it a try? This must be a great deal because the deal keeps on coming back by demand. So without goggling the school, I bought the $99 10 2Hr Basic conversational lessons voucher and email them to secure my booking.

1 week....

2 week....

No reply. 

I happen to check on my orders at Groupon and got a shock of my life. My voucher was stated as redeemed after a few days I purchased the voucher at 1:05AM! How on earth did it happen? I quickly Google search on this school, and found out that this school has a bad reputation and the voucher thing is a fraud! Most of them complained that nobody will answer the hotline.. which is true enough. I keep on calling and calling.. there was no answer from them.

I've given up contacting them, wrote an email to Groupon and I guess there are more victims like me, that's why refund was pretty fast!

Bangkok Trip with Family.

Bought 4 vouchers from Deals.com.sg for 4 day 3 nights stay in BKK. I am kind of ashamed to admit this... This is my first time traveling on an airplane as a whole family. In the past, my dad was so busy with his business, we couldn't fix a time to go on travelling together.

Upon reaching the airport, Me & bro went to the Axis counter to get our data card.. We couldn't survive the whole trip without internet even though the hotel provide free internet. The queue was fast and we went to search for our tour guide. Overall, we are satisfied with the tour guide, Apple from Jetview Travel International Co. Ltd. She is not pushy and we don't feel pressured into joining or paying extras for the tour.

Check in was smooth. Room for the next 3 night.

Erabelle Bugis Singapore Review

Have always heard about Erabelle through online, magazines & bloggers raving about how they specializes in semi-permanent eyebrows, eyeliners & lip liners. They claimed that they offer a solution to simplify beauty routines, allowing women everywhere to look good with minimal time and effort. It has a theme of a Japanese beauty house and you will be served by the "Kimono-Clad" staffs. On their website, they also ask you to put your trust on their professionalism & confidence in them.

ALL BULLSHIT.

I was heavily influenced by their commercials & bought my mom to the Bugis outlet for consultation. We had no problem making appointment for our first visit, and was being served by their "Kimono-Clad" staff name Candy.  During the consultation, not much of the advice was given, as in which type of eyebrows suit my mom's face but there was alot of sales talk going on. My mom was desperate to get her eyebrow fix, so she signed a package of $1200, inclusive of 4 touch ups (which can last for 2 years) and they guaranteed they are branded & my mom will have natural looking brows.


After paying & signing contract, Candy bought my mom to a room somewhere near the exit. I wasn't allowed to go in so I went up to the gym because it's going to take hours. First session, according to my mom, the pain level was manageable. However, during half way through her tattooing, Candy started to psycho her to sign up for the upper & lower eyeliner tattoo. My mom of course, wasn't interested and brush her off, she felt that Candy didn't "put her heart" to do a good brow job on her.


Sorry.. Didn't take photos of my mom eyebrows after doing. But go google search, alot of their clients uploaded photos of their uneven brow job and complained about their hard selling tactics.

So, after a month, my mom made another appointment for her touch up. This time, it was so hard to get an appointment! It seem like for consultation, the staffs are more willing to entertain you rather than you make the appointment for the touch up. ....And again, when Candy was doing the touch up for her, she tried to push my mom into getting her upper & lower eyeliner tattoo. My mom gave in and signed the package with them. I felt like bad daughter because I wasn't with her during the touch up. *ANGRY* ANGRY * ANGRY *

BECAUSE MY MOM HAS HEAVY DROOPY EYELIDS, THERE WOULDN'T BE ANY EFFECT EVEN IF SHE PUT THE EYELID TATTOO! 

True enough... there wasn't any effect and it ain't cheap either. I think my mom spent $1600 inclusive of 1 touch up. Candy insist that there is effect, you all go judge. See whether go effect anot.  SUPER UBER PISSED LAH.

FYI, this is the touch up which Candy claims to last to some years. What a waste of $$. You all got see any eyeliner on my mom's upper & lower eyelids meh? 

What is done is done lor. We didn't ask for a refund because I suppose they can't be bothered. Mom said just complete the package and we wouldn't be coming back to this brand anymore. Anyway, the package Candy claimed it can be lasted for 2 years, we actually completed it within a year, and not only there wasn't any effect, my mom's brow was back to the square 1 when there wasn't any tattooing done.



Note: Candy was no longer at the Bugis branch, we actually went all the way to Bedok Point and Millenia Walk for my mom's touch up. 

To people who have poor resistance to impulsive spending like my mom, please do a google search first on that shop before going, go in pairs & do not bring much cash / credit cards on your first visit!!

Overall check in was fast, done in 5 mins. As it was a weekday, we got an upgrade to their Family Suite. HAPPYY!!! Room comes with a HUGE BATHROOM, great for people like me who loves to hang in the bathroom =P However, because we got it at a deal price, there wasn't any breakfast included. Read the reviews online, alot of them said the breakfast sucks. Lucky us. Can sleep till very late. HEHEHE

SE:A

Been to this place countless of times. Can never get sick of it.

I can totally go there many times in a year. However, this was the worst trip ever because it was over crowded. Did they do a count before letting EVERYONE in? Place packed with communists. Can u image how horrible it was?

As the SE:A was overcrowded, we head to the exit shortly.. and took the train to Underwater World. Ever since I think they opened the SE:A, Underwater World seem to be left deserted. The aquatic animals are lifeless and we actually spotted a few dead fishes around which nobody bothers to clear them... 

BF said he wants to feed the sharks.. But I don't want to. It also smells like nobody clean the tank for 2 - 3 months and smells horrible from far!! 

Thank you D for being with me and the beautiful stay in Sentosa!

I WANT TO CRY NOW - 28/8/2013

Words couldn't express how happy and excited I am right now.


A few weeks ago I got a call from Korea. It was from a friend that I made during my trip sometime in May. It was an unforgettable & a different experience for me. This friend, let's just call her M, is being employed by a PS hospital. Her job is to take care of my post-op and show me around in Korea. We totally clicked (hahaha sound like she is a he =P), we have the similar subjects to talk about, same interests ... and we are of the same age! OK I'm not going to go on further.


So she bought me around, I experienced & learnt the daily lives of Koreans. Totally different from those typical tours where they only show you the best & brings you only to touristy places. For the past 2 weeks, I ate like Koreans, went to restaurants that serves only ONE menu, went to their wholesale market where only the Koreans will go... the prices are so much cheaper than those in Dongdaemum! I am so reluctant to come back.


Been months now, on & off we communicate through LINE. Did I mention that not many of the Koreans use Watsapp? In fact, WeChat is the second app they use after LINE. Then.. a few days ago, M called me! I am surprised. U know we Singaporeans don't really call each other.. anything we just text right? We chatted a while, told her that I regretted that I didn't buy Big Bang socks when I was in Korea. Qoo10.sg also have but it's slightly expensive + the shipping. I am reluctant to pay that amount.

Hi everyone. How have you all been? I couldnt find the time to blog as i've been really busy with work.

Today's thread is on my recent trip to Shunji Matsuo @ Sommerset 313. Bought a voucher from Groupon for their scalp treatment and made appointment immediately after receiving the voucher. Making appointment was quite difficult (good business?) as every time slot was packed even in late noon. As my voucher was going to expire, they manage to slot me in.

I was being assigned to a senior hair stylist Tesmond. He explained the procedures in details. I LIKE! A patience guy =) We chatted a while while he was doing the treatment on me and give me suggestions to aid my hairloss. I actually had a mental preparation that he is going to hard sell me in buying products.... but he didn't! He didn't even mention any shampoos in the shop but suggest me to use more of a hairloss products if I have.

After the treatment, my hair is smoother, hair color is brighter and my hair smell floral. I super love the service and I don't mind to come back again for hair treatment and haircut even their price is slightly higher.

Overall good expierence with them just that do remember to make your appointment 1 month in advance!

Dr. Scholl Medi Otto Compression Leggings Review

*This is not a paid post. Bought it, tried it. 

I never really believe in apparels that will make you slimmer after wearing it. I mean, I always have this logic that if these slimming apparels will make you slimmer after wearing, there will be no FAT girls around lol. Because I couldn't workout in gym like before, I am desperate to find ways to tone my legs and butt. So I begin to search for other alternatives. 

Came across many blogs and they are raving about this brand of stockings. 

Dr. Scholl Medi Otto Compression Leggings

I bought a pair of the leggings from Watson. When I looked at the price I actually hesitate a while because I'm in doubt whether it really works for me. Well, I bought it after all. =P 

Inside the packaging looks like this. Standard color I think.

 It would have been better if there is BLACK. Am I asking too much? Hahaha

Sorry I do not have photos on how tone my legs looked after wearing it. Overall the product really works as it claims but the compression leggings are so tight that on certain days I am lazy don't feel like wearing it. I suggest you girls get the leggings instead of the tights which is not so hard to wear. Of course, if you want to achieve a more firmed butt, get the tights. 

NOTE: Works even better if you exercise! Don't have to carry heavy weights, standing / walking for about half - 45mins is good enough! I can feel alittle warm on my calves as though the blood are circulating. May feel alittle discomfort wearing for the first few nights.

Oh one more thing, please be careful when purchasing other brands that claims to work the same as Dr Scholl leggings online. I know Qoo10.sg is selling similar compression leggings at a lower & affordable prices. I don't feel the warm sensation on my calves and they even cause rashes on my legs! So please really be careful ya!

So many thoughts right now and feeling emo. 

If you have been following on my posts, I ever blog about a particular friend. The incidents with her happened long ago, but whenever I think about it I still feel upset. I know I should be forgiving but I just can't. Partly because I'm a VIRGO? Yes, I may seem alright, in fact I'm still going on a long trip again with her and a bunch of friends. I couldn't back out the trip so last minute because this was planned a year back. 

Well, I think it has become obvious lately because I haven't meet up with this group of friends ever since I came back from Korea trip. Partly because my membership gonna expire, the staffs tries to hard-sell me, partly just want to avoid people. In fact, my ears are so clear and there are no false rumors going on, thanks to this particular friend who has been telling people about my stuffs. I suppose this group of friends have a lot doubts but couldn't get an answer out from me. 

Anyway, I will still go on the trip as planned & will enjoy it to the fullest!

D'Kranji Farm Resort

Frankly speaking, I've never heard of this place before. I don't even know this place existed until I was checking on some promotions on Groupon and came across this.

Sounds good to me so I bought this deal and intend to use this Groupon to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. Making appointment was easy & hassle free, just that I don't understand why they need so much of my credit card details as I already made the full payment to Groupon. 

And I google search on the reviews on what I can expect. I panicked when I saw the reviews on tripadviser.com  Many bad ratings like " room is small, out of the way, awful breakfast blah blah". But what to do? I already bought the voucher. =( 

We decided to drive there because Kranji is really far and somewhere located in the middle of Lim Chu Kang. Check in is via at the gantry gate and hassle free. Front desk lady was extremely helpful and explaining to us in details. Plus points! =D

We opt for the 60mins prawning and went there at night. Well, completely waste of them because for the 60 mins we didn't get to catch any prawns except 1 dead prawn. YUCKSSSS Not an issue though.. Because it's a farm, do expect insects in the room... and the room is really small! Maybe like a 35sq feet?

Breakfast included in the voucher. Quite hearty. lol

Overall we had a very good experience with the resort, for the price we paid. Will definitely come back again if there's another deal!

HAZadous

Overdue post again. =P So the haze has been hitting Singapore for the past few weeks. As usual, we Singaporeans are "Kiasee", we rush to buy masks and N95 masks were practically sold out island wide. PSI hit the level of 400+ thanks to Indonesia's illegal fire. Luckily it is of a moderate PSI now.

My Grandma was the unfortunate one. Being an elderly, the haze would definitely affect her. Her eyes were swollen, causing itches and redness, breathing difficulties & dry cough during night till morning. Initially we thought she had chest infection or what.

Korea Part 3

Sorry guys! Out of scene of a while because many many things happened and I couldn't blog it here.Trying to rush all my overdue post & I'll continue on Korea Part 3 now. =P

I strongly recommend this guesthouse. The location of this guesthouse is easy to find & the cheapest accommodation in Gangnam area. Accessible to nearby subway station too.

One of the lounge I frequent during my stay in Gangnam. Love the ambiance here & the oppa ( I suppose is the owner of the lounge) can speak good English! You know it's hard to find Koreans who can speak English around.. =( Anyway, he told me he had a nose job not long ago and also healing in process lol Unfortunately I didn't get the lounge address but I remember the way!

Had a craving for Ja-Jang-Myeon (Zha Jiang Mien), so my friend brought me to a famous Korean Chinese Restaurant. As on photo, many celebrities have been here. This restaurant quite "ATAS" but surprisingly the price of our meal was very reasonable .... and this is the BEST NOODLE I'VE EATEN IN MY LIFE.

As usual, all side dishes are included in every meal we had. We can barely move after eating each time.

Home for the next 7 days. Funny that my eyes didn't swell, it's a good sign. Was told not to carry heavy luggage but no choice I had to because we had to move to another hotel. This is a pretty decent 4 star hotel, however the location is further away from the busy street of Gangnam. I still prefer Ephphatha Residence!
